I think its a good idea, because one of the problems of having an electric car is that there aren't that many docking stations for cars. On the other hand, since electric cars can take up to 8 hours to charge, the stations could get clogged and full up constantly
I believe that these charging stations are a very good idea and will help premote a very underused technology. The iniative shown by the Maryland state governement will help to encourage people to purchase and use electric vehicles. These stations will work to combat that largest issue faced by electric vehicle producers and that is how to mass market them to the public. If the convience of a charging station is present in areas that a person lives it may compell them to buy an electric vehicle.
I think its a good idea for college students because the charging spot is right next FCC. They can save money on gas and charge their car while they are in school. I think it is worthless to anyone else becasue we arent going to go and sit and wait a long time to charge our car that wont last very long.

I don't think it is worth it because you charge the car for 8 hours and you only get 80 miles to drive. It is a huge waste of money and should be directed towards something else like education. They could convince some people to get cars because you can go and charge them but once you drop them off, you have to wait 8 hours for it be charged and you waste a lot of it already on your way home.

The only question is how long it would take for the cars to charge and whether or not that would affect the avaibility of transporting with electric cars.

This is a great idea! This should help encourage people in the city of Frederick to buy electric cars that help to minimize pollution and decrease the demand for foreign gasoline to help the economy. While it is still not very great for fully electric cars due to the amount fo time required to fully charge, it will help people with hybrid cars by being able to "top off" on electricity while doing things inside FCC. It also makes the process of adding more powerful faster chargers in the future much Simpler. We already have some of the encessary infrastructure now and will not need to create new spaces for future chargers, we will only need to upgrade the already existing chargers.
I feel that this is a good idea, but it is being used in a bad location. People still have cars that run on gasoline, especially in the college because hybrid cars are expensive! If the state government is going to give a million dollars to fund something that only a helps a small portion of people it should really be used towards education or something more effective.

Charging stations are a great idea but are probably not the most prudent decision in this economy. With the national debt steadily rising, we need to find ways to cut the useless expenditure before we invest in an expensive project, even if that project is beneficial. BP solar recently lost millions on their solar project because it wasn't the right time for it. We should wait until the government stops giving unneeded handouts before it makes such an investment.
i think these are not ready to be put to use yet because with an 8 hour charging time they are inefficiant and if there is a growth in electric cars they will be useless if it takes 8 hours charge one car.
